(To be honest, this igloo was made last Saturday. I STILL haven’t gotten the advent activity calendar completed and hung. Luckily, there is hardly a lack of winter activities in and around this home of ours.) Our friends who live across the street joined in on some igloo building at our house. The snow was soft and contained the perfect amount of moisture. We used plastic storage containers as molds for the bricks and were able to build it high enough for the kids to feel they had their own world when inside.

This was Nathan’s first day in his snow getup and he took to it very well. Each item he is wearing belonged to another sibling or friend at some point in the past. Inside the house Nathan likes to help me sweep the house, toddling breathlessly to pick up the dustpan and place it on the dirt pile as soon as he sees me beginning to sweep (He then walks to the kitchen garbage can and points and grunts until I dump the dirt in. He then chuckles and claps.) SO, here he is “sweeping” outside.

A job well done!

Dear Santa,

I would like a rattle snake and some mice to feed to the snake. I would also like an art kit like Mommy’s. One that I can use for only myself and for my friends.

Jena, Heather and I went to a wreath making workshop at Red Butte Garden this month and made fresh wreathes for our doors. They had an enormous selection and greenery and decorations and the results were beautiful all around.

Moi absolutely could not wait to decorate the tree. I sat on the floor and carefully unwrapped the ornaments and gave them out to the girls to place on the tree. Moi helped Nat with the whole idea of getting them to stay on the branches, a pretty tricky task for such young hands. The best part was seeing the girls so excited to put up the ornament they each were given on their first Christmas. Moi was so proud to show dad her baby rattle engraved with her name and the year 2002. Nat’s is a tiny sleeping baby in a cradle snuggled up to a teddy bear.
